Hi, it's good to meet you.
Yegene [yeh-jin], 예진. I also go by Joyce among friends.
I’m a Los Angeles-native who graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College in 2019, with a double major in political science (IR track) and East Asian studies and a minor in English.
I’ve written extensively about the arts and also served as the arts editor for my college’s daily newspaper, The Dartmouth. As an arts and culture reporter and columnist, I’ve developed keen commentary around the relationship between the arts and social movements. In 2019, I also wrote a series of short stories about Korean ghosts and fairy tales that I am currently looking to publish.
I’m fascinated by social media and its potential for reshaping the way we think and interact with the world around us. I’ve managed social media accounts for a performing arts center and two non-profit organizations, and in the process, I’ve developed an on-the-ground eye for what grabs people’s attentions.
In my spare time, I’m also a reader and an amateur film aficionado, with a strong interest in photography and good Korean food.
